Module 2 covers the quality requirements necessary for a durable concrete surface repair. Items discussed include the identification and removal of deteriorated and contaminated concrete, the cleaning and repair of deteriorated and damaged reinforcing steel, surface preparation, and repair material placement techniques and procedures (including curing and protection practices). For existing reinforcing steel, the measurement of reinforcing steel section loss and lap lengths is further discussed.
