In new construction, cracks can appear for variety of reasons: curing, temperature deviation, pressure from adjacent conditions, or settlement. This presentation will outline various types of cracking, how to plan to avoid them, and how to address them after concrete has been placed.

Leon has over 16 years of experience in the assessment and repair of such structural systems as conventional reinforced concrete, steel frames, and masonry. His experience related to façade evaluation and repair design includes working with different stone cladding materials, curtain walls, brick, and concrete.

Her work includes plaza repair and waterproofing, parking structures, historic buildings, and steel frame structures.
